【英語文化事情】Moses Fleetwood Walker’s childhood

Moses Fleetwood Walker was born in 1856 October 7 in Mt. Pleasant, Ohio. His father is Moses and his mother is Caroline Walker. And, he is their third child. Both parents thought education is very important for child. In 1877, Moses Fleetwood Walker entered Oberlin College which is one of the few segregated colleges in U.S. then. He has studied Greek, French, German, Latin, and math, and attended the University of Michigan law school also. A few years later, his younger brother, Welday Wilberforce Walker, entered Oberlin College. In 1881, he and his brother joined the school’s first varsity baseball team. Because the Ann Arbor school recruited to him, he transferred and played catcher on the Michigan team in 1882. But, in 1883, he return back to Oberlin team.
